Armstrong Takes On “World’s Largest” Race

Lance Armstrong tweeted today that he will be participating in Cape Town South Africa’s Cape Argus Cycle Tour on March 14th.  The 109 km event is billed as “the world’s largest individually timed cycle race” with around 40,000 participants.

Armstrong said his RadioShack teammate Daryl Impey of South Africa will be joining him.  South African Robbie Hunter who is now a member of The Garmin-Transitions has won the race on two occasions, but it is not known if he will participate this year.

Lance will be racking up some serious miles on him private jet this season after already racing the Tour Down Under in Australia.
